February 2009: Goodbye and Good Luck
Jos Warby Leaves the Upper Octave
2009 sees the end of an era for the Octave. Popular cast member Jos Warby has been given an unmissable singing opportunity by a London agent, and so will be moving on from the Octave this year.
Jos joined the group in 1999. She brought with her considerable talent, vocal range, versatile performing ability- and her mum, who never missed a single performance Jos made! Audiences will no doubt particularly remember her stunning performances of 'Memory' from Cats, her moving portrayal of Eponine in our Les Miserables Concert and that amazing high C at the end of Phantom. Jos could always be relied upon to put in a great standard of performance no matter what, and none of us can EVER remember her forgetting her words! On a lighter note, we will laugh for years to come at the memory of Jos arriving on stage for I Know Him So Well, 16 bars late and half-strangled, wearing a very dishevelled strappy silver dress, having been unable to get her arms and head through the right straps in a very quick costume change! However, she still got her words right...
We are sure you will join us in congratulating Jos on a decade of fabulous singing with the Upper Octave, and wishing her every success for whatever the future brings.
